WooCommerce dropshipping in the UK
Last checked 29 September 2026
WooCommerce is your own shop, so you set the rules — but you also carry the responsibilities a marketplace would otherwise take on. Here is what that means for a UK dropshipper.
What you need
- A WordPress site with the free WooCommerce plugin, served over HTTPS.
- Permalinks set to anything other than “Plain”, so the REST API works.
- A payment provider, delivery options and clear returns and privacy policies for UK consumers.
- Suppliers that ship to the UK — for example CJ Dropshipping or AliExpress.
VAT works differently from eBay
On eBay, the marketplace charges VAT on imported consignments of £135 or less. On your own store there is no marketplace in between, so for those consignments the seller must charge and account for UK VAT at the point of sale. Read the £135 VAT rule and speak to an accountant before you start.
Automating it
Zixo connects to WooCommerce with your store URL and a Read/Write REST API key, publishes the listings you approve, syncs orders and places approved orders with your supplier, writing tracking back to the order. WooCommerce is included on the Pro and Scale plans, alongside eBay — see WooCommerce automation and pricing.
